Eric Wins LA Area Emmy Award:
August, 2009:
A project that eric co-produced and scored entitled 2008 All Schools Elementary Honor Orchestra won a Los Angeles Area Emmy award in the category of Children/Youth Programming. The 60 minute documentary, which initially aired on Los Angeles TV stations is now available on national cable channels.
Eric Orchestrates 2 New Feature Films:
July, 2009:
Eric recently completed work on two orchestral scores for composer Steve Edwards. The films, Ninja and Cool Dog both featured large ensembles of live players.
Concert composition to premiere at San Francisco Conservatory:
May, 2009:
Eric recently composed a piece for friend and timpanist Jonathan Goldstein. Eric’s piece “Adventure for Flute and Timpani” will premiere at Goldstein’s Masters recital on May 7th at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. The piece, which is divided into three movements, requires 7 higher-pitched tenor timpani drums in addition to 5 traditional timpani, which gives the performer unusual range and flexibility.
Welcome Home shown at NewFilmMakers series and G.I. Film Festival in May:
April, 2009:
Eric’s emotional score for Leo F. Cunningham’s film Welcome Home will once again be screened as part of the NewFilmMakers series in LA and the G.I. Film Festival in Washington DC. Cunningham, an Iraq War veteran who studied film at USC, created a vivid picture of what it was like to be on the front lines of combat, and to return home and face the reality of civilian life. Eric’s score supports this complex mix of emotions.
Eric’s Arranges Music and Plays Trumpet on Feature Film, Lies and Illusions:
January, 2009:
Working with composer Steve Edwards, Eric arranged several cues for Lies and Illusions, a film starring Christian Slater and Cuba Gooding Jr.
